www.bebegaia.co.uk is a wordpress based website. Isabelle was hosting her site via wordpress.com and was looking to host her own site to give her full freedom.
She contacted me looking for a theme that would reflect her new logo and branding, and wanted to ensure that the site would attract both men and women, with this in mind she wanted to ensure that the site was kept clean and simple, with no pink!

I took www.my-review.co.uk offline back in November for what I thought was going to be a couple of days to make some small changes, however, as usual, I got caught up in other projects and the site was down longer than I anticipated!
At the weekend I decided that it had been down long enough and wanted to ‘re-launch’ it with a new look as well as an improved navigation. I really like some of the wordpress ‘magazine’ themes that are around at the moment and was having a look around for some inspiration when I came across an excellent theme called Mimbo designed by Darren Hoyt. Even though My Review doesn’t run on Wordpress I set about editing the theme to suit my requirements.
You can view the results at www.my-review.co.uk.
A massive thanks to Darren and his brill theme!

I recently finished the website for Sonia Tinagli-Macrae, who makes bespoke handmade jewellery. Sonia asked me if I would be able to design an advert for her for the Winter Edition of the Scottish Wedding Directory. Here is what I came up with…

The Winter Edition goes on sale on the 4th of July 2008.

www.leighandmatt.co.uk and www.alanandfiona.co.uk are personal wedding websites. A lot of our guests are coming up from England, and I thought it would be useful and fun to have a wedding website that gave them information on how to get here and where they could stay.
My brother is also getting married next year and really liked the idea of having a website so I built one for him too. Both site designs are loosely based on the design that I’ve used for this website.

www.gioiamia.net is a showcase site for Glasgow based jewellery designer Sonia Tinagli-Macrae. Sonia wanted a clean and simple site that showed off her gorgeous handmade jewellery to it’s full advantage.
I decided to make use of the mootools framework, which gives the site it’s unusual sliding navigation. The site has been developed to be straight forward and easy to navigate, while retaining a design which echos the beauty of Sonia’s product.

100 Excellent Free WordPress Themes

This is an excellent resource courtesy of Smashing Magazine, I can’t believe that these templates are free!
High-quality WordPress themes always come in handy. Whether you are looking for some design inspiration or professional coding solutions — in both cases you can learn a lot, you can apply them and you can build customized designs upon them without reinventing the wheel all the time.
I’ve just spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out why I couldn’t receive trackbacks on this site. As it turns out the issue lies with my hosting company (names.co.uk).
Their website states:
Vulnerabilities found in xmlrpc.php
Due to a large number of vulnerabilities found in the xmlrpc.php library supplied with a number of online scripts, we have decided to block access to any page with this name. While we have patched all the underlying libraries, we are disabling it until a more complete fix is found. If you are using xmlrpc.php, please update to the latest version and rename it.
Anyway, taking their advice I renamed the file and then changed the refrences to xmlrpc.php in both the new xmlrpc file (lines 31 through to 34) and in wp-includes/general-templates.php (lines 105 & 829), I then deleted out the old xmlrpc file and trackbacks are now working!
Additionally, I did come across a really good tutorial on http://www.optiniche.com which is step by step guide to trackbacks and how to use them.
